Been going crazy getting everything in place for KEWL Fest in two months! You’d be surprised how much work it is! We met with the Fire Chief, the Police Chief and all the leaders of their different tactical divisions yesterday! All the laws that have to be obeyed! All the regulations we have to be sure to think of…Wow!

I’m having one right now!!! Not only did the meeting that took over two weeks to schedule get canceled at the last minute today, but just now, I almost got run over by a Suburban (or REALLY BIG TRUCK LIKE MONSTER SUV!), and less than five minutes later a pit bull took a swipe at my arm!  It didn’t break the skin, thank goodness, but it did give me a HUGE scare!

So. Now I’m drinking a hot cuppa and eating an entire European chocolate bar by myself to help me recover.

What do you do to get your sanity back when everything seems to be going wrong? We’d be very grateful for ANY suggestions!

Now, I forbid you to tell me ANYTHING specific about where you live!!! No towns, streets or anything that would help me actually find you! Just to make that clear! You know never to put that kind of info on the web, right?

What I mean is, what is it like? Do you live in a big city? A small town? A suburb? Is it an old place or a new one? Is there forest nearby? Parks? How do you get to the store with your friends? Do you use the subway, have your mom drive, ride your bikes or do you just walk around the corner? Is the weather mild, or extreme hot and cold for winter and summer? And what’s your favorite thing about living there?

I grew up in a little town that was seperated by water from a very big city, so we got the best of small town life (bike riding everywhere, knowing everyone) while having the city close by (theatre, museums, fancy shops). If I wanted sweets, I had to ride my bike a mile to get there, which is probably why I was always so skinny despite my huge chocolate habit!

Also, we named the August issue winners at the beginning of this week, so if you haven’t received an notification email, you can still check the site to see if you won! Just go to the “Win!” page, and at the top there’s a link to see if you’re one of the newest winners. (If it says you’ve won, but doesn’t list a prize, that’s an old win that we can’t seem to shake out of the system - current wins will always list a prize won.)

If you are a winner, and didn’t get an email, maybe you’re profile is no longer up to date. Go to ‘change my 411′ and make sure we have an up to date email and mailing address (with first and last names) for you. This makes it so much easier when mailing out prizes, or even KEWL Store purchases!

Everyday in every way, we’re working harder and harder to bring you first hand pix and news from the frontlines in Hollywood…and today is no different! Our very focused and multi-talented photographer Eric is out there in the fray, getting hot new pix of Corbin Bleu and Olesya Olin from HSM3! This is the big surprise we were talking about! KEWL is sponsoring a music festival just for teens!!! We’re closing down two whole city blocks, and transforming it into a mecca of everything teen, from music to video games to clothing to sports to…well, some of it, even we don’t know yet! There will be music acts on the KEWL Stage all day long, and a red carpet and autograph area, where you can get a little bit closer to your fave teen stars!

The whole thing is being done together with the Mother Goose Parade, the largest parade West of the Mississippi, which takes place on the same street the next day, making it a whole weekend of kewl family fun!

It’s our goal to create a place where we can have a kewl time together, while sharing it with our families and friends - no stress, just the rest! And in that spirit, we’ve also watched the price: Tickets are only $5 per person if you buy them online until October 31st!  To get all the information, go online to our dedicated site www.kewlfest.com.
