As we reported in our news section, the Cheetah Girls new movie “The Cheetah Girls: One World” will be airing for the first time on Friday night, with a repeat performance on Saturday and a sing-a-long on Sunday. Will you be there? Just once, or all three showings? Just how Cheetah-centric are you?

We’re pretty excited, not just for the girls, but also because of the Bollywood angle! We just love that Indian style,  for clothes, music and all out dancing and romance. The real Bollywood films all seem to end pretty tragically, so let’s hope this one is more American, at least on that subject!

This KEWL staffer did it! Went out last night way up in the mountains, far, far away from the city lights, and watched the meteor shower! It was like really slow fireworks, but super fun! Three girls with energy drinks, jackets, hats, blankets, pillows and dime-store sun lounge chairs way up in the mountains on a big open space with a huuuuuuge view of the sky. The meteors looked like big sprays of sparklers flashing across the sky and going in all different directions. Every once in a while we had to ignore the sounds of the wild animals prowling the forest around us, but as long as we kept up our constant chatter (ummm…not a problem!), we knew they wouldn’t really come out and bug us. We didn’t quite make it through the whole night - did anyone else? Was anyone awake for the big splash between 4 and 5am? If you live somewhere with less street lights than LA (!), you might have been able to watch the show from your own back yard! If you missed it, don’t fret: The showers continue, though not quite as spectacularly, all the way through the 27th of August. So get out there and do some star-watching!

Just look at what that 41 year old Olympian mom did!!! She won the Gold Medal! It’s good to work hard now, but there’s also no reason you can’t have a full life, and still achieve your dreams when you’re older! Miley is a teen queen at fifteen (I love rhymes!), but just think how many more pop and rock stars you can name who are older!

So proud of all our athletes!  and did you check out those opening ceremonies?!? So beautiful! Can’t decide if my fave part was the dancers who created the painting, or the people in the boxes creating those incredible wave patterns, or the ‘footsteps of history’ or what!!! So beautiful!

We’ve got it - do you? What’s your fave sport to watch? Why? Do you count medals? Do you root for underdogs? This kewl staffer is always a problem at viewing parties, because I’ll root for whoever is the most graceful and skilled athlete, even if they’re a non-U.S.A. athlete! I get food thrown at me, but for me, the Olympics are about both things: national pride AND the love of the sport. And I always think the Canadians are really well dressed…:) Love the colors and the costumes!

After our crazy day yesterday, the office seems like a ghost town today. Everything is out of it’s regular place…even the couches are upended and standing around in the hall! Crazy! And after all that hard work, everyone seems to have decided to sleep in and try to miss out on the clean up…but they are wrong! This KEWLstaffer is able to withstand the mess and wait for interns to return and clean it all up for her! Yes! You see a princess before you who will not attempt this madness unaided. So the greenscreen stays up, and the furniture will stay upended in the halls…at least until the interns come home!

Today we have guests again! Two of the stars of Nickelodeon’s next big musical movie “Spectacular” are here to give us the scoop and do a photo shoot for our next mag! Today we get to play host to Victoria Justice (Zoey 101) and her super talented co-star in Spectacular, Andrea Lewis. The girls became besties on the the set, and are super happy to see each other again!

We’ll be giving the full scoop in the magazine, but be warned: There are some cute guys in the musical as well!!! Stay tuned!

We don’t know exactly why this happens, but it does: Our editor Denise goes into a cleaning frenzy once every month, and nothing can get in her way! She organizes, and chucks out and cleans every nook and cranny of the office! Once it is all done, she takes a big breath, and dives into creating the next issue of KEWL.

To some people, this would be called ‘procrastination’ (or ‘putting things off”), but there is another theory on that. The buddhists like to say, ‘clear house, clear mind’, and there’s something to that. Most people work much better in a clean, well-ordered space. So if there’s something you’ve been putting off - a letter you want to write or some art you’ve been wanting to create - try cleaning your space thoroughly to make room for all the kewl new thoughts to come tumbling out of your head and onto the paper!
