Or: A new look at “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

You guys are off for the summer, so it’s the perfect time to look around at what people do, and whether you’d like to do it too. Start with the people you see around you each day - at the mall, fixing your mom’s car, the dentist…everyone you see is doing something for a living, and right now, there’s no reason you couldn’t one day do it too. Especially since you have plenty of time to find out what it is you need to do to get there. Need to go to medical school? Start getting those science grades up. Think you’ll need a scholarship? Start getting ALL those grades up, and maybe getting involved in a service organization that provides scholarships, too.

So look around you, in your own world and beyond your world. Ask questions and get the info you need. That way, you’ll be on your way to having a career that you love for the rest of your life!

So, tell us what you want to be. Don’t worry, you can always change your mind later if something kewler comes up! Being an actor didn’t stop me from being a dancer, and being a dancer didn’t stop me from becoming a physical therapist, and being a physical therapist never stopped me from being a writer! What’s your current dream job?

If anyone hasn’t noticed already, we kind of like our movies here at the kewlblogs. The magazine is usually more music oriented, but your faithful blogster is a movie-head! Just saw Hancock on Sunday, and loved it! Okay, the language is definitely not for everyone, but true to the characters, and it is pretty violent with lots of cgi special effects, but the story is really uniquely told and well acted - yippee! Maybe not quite as perfect as Iron Man, but very, very good! IMHO.

Now it’s your turn: What movies have you seen this summer that you would definitely suggest we go and see?  And why? We like all kinds of movies, so any style will do!

Did you guys know that there are people out there who set up MySpace pages, Facebook pages, blogs and stuff like that, but they pretend to be other people. Okay, so maybe you knew that, and that’s why we all have to be careful…But what I’m talking about is people pretending to be Famous people!  People pretending to be some of the people in our magazine! Can you imagine? Your friends are talking online to you, and it’s not even you?!? It’s creepy! We have talked to at least two stars who are having this problem right now, and they’re actually forced to argue with these people about who the real ‘me’ is!

It’s great to be a huge fan of someone else, but don’t go pretending you are them! For the record, that is sick behavior, and it forces stars to have less and less to do with their fans in order to protect themselves. It’s always a good idea to concentrate on living your own life so that you can make it the best one possible

Be careful out there!  And don’t be creepy!

Lot’s to do to finish up the Aug. issue, so we’ll keep it short! Thanks for the birthday suggestions! Sometimes stars just spring up on you, and you can’t believe they weren’t always famous - like Demi Lovato. Didn’t have her on the list last year, and look at her go now!

Need something KEWL to wear for a sweet 16 birthday party cruise in two weeks - what should I wear? I’ll be interviewing teen celebs for you guys, so keep me decent! Suggestions requested!

That’s what happened to this blogster last night. Just catching up on some required-watching movies, and found myself blubbing through about the last half hour of “Bridge to Terabithia”.  I know, I know! You guys all said it was sad, and it’s not like I was surprised with all the spoiler reviews you guys give in our kewlmag.com reviews section (why ya’ll gotta spoil the end of movies for everyone else, huh?), but I still ended up with tears running down my cheeks.  And I know it’s not real and everything - Josh Hutcherson is a really good actor, isn’t he?

Ah, well… Fave movies for crying your eyes out? Anyone?

What in the heck to talk about today? It was such a busy, fun, hot, crazy weekend! Our photog Eric ran into a few reality stars and got really excited about it. Susan spent the weekend floating in a pool and moving as little as possible. The bosses were hard at work on the next magazine for ya’ll (as always!). Since everyone was on vacation, there isn’t much in the news today…

With gas prices this high and the economy the way it is, lots of people are deciding not to travel too far, or at all, for this summer’s fun. And you know what? That isn’t that bad! Because summer is the best time to be just about anywhere! Good weather, long days, relaxed dress codes, and for ya’ll, more free time to do things you don’t usually get to do!  What we’ve noticed here at KEWL, is that there are soooo many things to do right here in our home town during the summer, that leaving would be just plain missing out.

Sure, we’re in LA, but since we live here, we would never go to any of the tourist attractions at this time of year! What we can do, though, is go to museums, free outdoor concerts, movie nights under the stars, community kids theater, biking, swimming, skating, and basically using our time to do all the things we never get a chance to do during the school year!

So tell us: Are you Stay or Va-cationing this summer? What kewl things can you find to do right in your own home town that you couldn’t do anywhere else?
