9 More Days…

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

…to enter our March issue contests!!!  At midnight on May 15th, we’ll end the entry period for those, and have the computer randomly select all the winners for those contests.  Then, you’ll still have the April issue contests to enter all the way until midnight on May 31st!  And sometime after May 15th, the June issue contests will go live, and you can start entering those, too!

Did you know that you are eligible (allowed) to win once in each set of contests we offer!  That means you can enter for a chance to win every time a new issue hits the stands!  Some of our past winners have been asking lately, so clearly we need to say it again.  Keep entering!

Now let’s hear from you: What kinds of things would you be interested in seeing as prizes from KEWL?  Of course, we can’t promise we can get them, but it’s fun to have more heads coming up with more and more ideas for fun give-a-ways!  KEWLreader Felicity came up with the give-a-way for 1 year subscriptions to KEWL, and we thought that was a great idea, too!

What are your ideas?  Both reasonable and un!

Popstar/Actress sisters Aly and AJ Michalka are now turning activists, too!  They’re getting involved in the Race to Erase MS campaign, and have been spotted around town sporting the cause’s signature orange t-shirts and bracelets!  Tommy Hilfiger did the designs to help support the Nancy Davis Foundation for MS, and since May is National MS Awareness Month, it’s the perfect time to get out and wear your orange!  Go to http://www.erasems.org/store/products.php to find all the products you can buy to help support the cause, and check out their homepage to see ways in which you can get involved in helping out in your community! Gotta love the color!

Did Paula Help Jason?

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

kewl_mag_paula_abdul.jpgDid you see last night’s episode of Idol? Paula read from a script and made a mistake by commenting on a song she had not even heard yet. She told AI contestant Jason that she felt that on his second song his “usual charm was missing.” Paula said, “It kind of made me a little empty. And the 2 songs made me feel you’re not fighting hard enough to get into the top 4.” The problem with this remark was that Jason had not actually sang a second song at that point in the show. Most people are saying that Paula was basing her comments off of the afternoon rehearsal and was reading off of earlier notes. They also say that her opinion could have influenced other voters negatively towards Jason…But how about this for a kewl twist? Maybe Paula’s comment helped Jason’s 2nd song. For example, if you knew ahead of time that someone thought your next performance was not going to be  good enough to get in the top 4, wouldn’t you do EVERYTHING in your power to change that person’s mind when you sang the song again? Isn’t it possible that Jason was empowered to do better on his second song?We know that lots of people are mad at Paula but she might have just helped Jason! What do you think?theKEWLteam
