Looking forward to the weekend?
Friday, February 15th, 2008It should be a long one for most of you… well, if you live in the United States, that is!!! It’s our President’s Day Holiday on Monday. It’s usually held on the Monday in between President Lincoln’s and President Washington’s birthdays. George Washington was the first president of the United States, and served as president for the first 8 years of our country’s life. Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president, and signed the emancipation proclamation, that led to freeing of the slaves. He also led the North to victory during the American Civil War. Sometimes we forget that our holidays aren’t only there to give us a break, but to give us some time to remember and honor people who made our country a better place to live! Now go out there and have a crazy fun weekend in their honor!yourKEWLhistoryteam
