We Need Heroes!

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Hey guys!

Do you know any heroes?  Kids, just like you, except they do things you’re totally in awe of!  We know about all the famous ones - what about the people in your town, your neighborhood, or people who have the same hobbies as you, who are just incredibly good at what they do?  Know anyone like that?  Well, tell us about them!  Not too much personal info on the web, but just enough to give props!  And if it’s really good, maybe we’ll spotlight them in the magazine!  Wouldn’t that be KEWL?!?

Some of the KEWL people we’ve given the spotlight treatment to already can be found on our website: www.kewlmag.com.  Look under the “Reader’s Spotlight” section, and we’ve got pictures and interviews with the kewlest kids we’ve met!  There’s even some video links to look at too of the kids in action!

Can’t wait to hear from you guys!  And have a great weekend!

Here’s a place for it!

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

For right now, anyway!  Over on the main site, there’s so much going on, we can hardly respond to all the questions you guys are asking!  So here’s an offer: Ask questions about the site or the mag, and we’ll do our best to answer them!  Things are a bit more calm over here on the blog… for now at least!  Let us know if there are movies, books, tv shows or cds you want me to add to the site for reviews!  Things you want us to check out for you in fashion, beauty, fitness - whatever!  Let us know!  We’re making notes, and getting to them one by one!  W have to say - you guys are on it!  One of you suggested checking in to puffy sleeved shirts, and now we’re seeing them all over at fashion week!  www.kewlmag.com

So chime in, you will be heard!

Feel Good Classics

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

On this day of remembering, let’s not forget how to make ourselves feel good, too!  We saw a really old movie the other day, and it was so good, we have to  “re-spread” the news!  The movie was “Singin’ in the Rain”, and is the best movie-musical of all time… okay!  -In our humble opinion!  But it’s got everything!  Romance! Comedy! Bad guys!  Good guys! Beautiful singing!  And best of all: Incredible Dancing!!!  You have just GOT to check it out!  Especially if you’re a big fan of HSM!

Go out and rent it, and tell us what you think!  And let us know about YOUR favorite all-time movie-musicals, too!

Your take on Britney’s comeback.

Monday, September 10th, 2007

Okay, folks!  Which of you saw the VMA’s with Britney’s comeback performance last night?!?  We’ve been hearing so many different takes on it, but it sounds like she may have a lot of work to do before her album drops.  Based on the pix, we gotta say we prefer her rehearsal outfit (jeans and a short T-shirt) to the show costume (a black sequined bra and boy-shorts).  She looks good for a mommy of two - but is that a “community” belly, as Chris Rock would say?!?

What do you think?  How was her performance?  Costumes?  The show in general?

Let us know!

Fashion Week Madness!

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Someday, we’d love to go, but for now, we have to be happy with the blogger sites that show all the stars getting their fill of new fashion!

And how weird it must be… they’re looking at stuff for next Spring!?!  In our hearts, we’re getting ready for fall, and they’re showing pastels, and flowers and light breezy fabrics?!?  It just seems wrong!  But that’s the way in fashion!  They have to show, then take orders, so that the clothes are made and in the shops by the time you want to buy them!  The designers have it a bit easier: they do come up with the line during the correct season, at least!  But then, they have to ignore what’s going on right now, and imagine what the future should hold!

FYI: Did you know that the color and fabric gurus are even farther ahead in their thinking than the designers?  It boggles the mind!

Look into the future… Would fashion be a career for you?

Let us know why, or why not!

Britney’s Comeback…

Britney in White

Do you think she’ll be back big?  Or do you think she’s gone too far?  She is one of the few starlets who hasn’t been arrested lately, but she’s had some missteps of her very own that the other girls haven’t made.  What do you think?  Can the princess of pop once again ascend her throne?  We want it to be true!

What are your thoughts?

Why hate?!?

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

It’s so weird!  Today, I saw two grown men get in a really heated argument about politics!  Sure, it’s good to believe strongly in the things you believe in, but that doesn’t mean you can just shut another person down!

Better choice than a fight?  Try finding out why a person feels the way they feel.  Then maybe you can understand them better, and also have a better chance of convincing them of your side of the situation.  I don’t think it’s possible in the human race for us all to agree on everything at the same time.  What is possible is accepting those who think differently… even if it’s hard.  Accepting isn’t joining.  And the only wrong point of view, is the one that doesn’t give respect to the feelings of others.

What do you think?
