Weekend Movie Blog!

Okay guys!  Go crazy now!  What movie have you seen this weekend?  Did you like it?  Why or why not?  Without SPOILING it for everyone else, try to describe why you liked it - but don’t give away the good stuff!!!! Then tell us why we would want to see it, or not see it, too!  Convince us!  Use your words!  There are so many out there…

Did you guys know that Americans use less words than Brits?  Just check out the movie reviews on www.kewlmag.com , and you can immediately tell who’s writing from England, and Australia, and New Zealand, and Canada!  It’s so KEWL!  So, come on you Americans!  Time to make up for unused words, and use a ton of em!  When we can’t see your face, they’re the best possible way to express just exactly what you want to say!

Try ‘borrowing’ your parents, or older brother or sister’s Thesaurus.  It’s a kind of dictionary, that gives you other words with the same or similar meaning to the one you’re already using.  On www.thesaurus.reference.com, this is the list of synonyms for KEWL: (well, cool, really)

air-conditioned, algid, arctic, biting, chill, chilled, chilling, chilly, coldish, frigid, frore, frosty, gelid, nipping, nippy, refreshing, refrigerated, shivery, snappy, wintry, assured, collected, composed, coolheaded, deliberate, detached, dispassionate, impassive, imperturbable, level-headed, nonchalant, philosophical, phlegmatic, placid, quiet, relaxed, self-controlled, self-possessed, serene, stolid, together, tranquil, unagitated, unemotional, unexcited, unflappable, unruffled, aloof, annoyed, apathetic, distant, frigid, impertinent, impudent, incurious, indifferent, insolent, lukewarm, offended, offhand, offish, procacious, reserved, solitary, standoffish, unapproachable, uncommunicative, unenthusiastic, unfriendly, uninterested, unresponsive, unsociable, unwelcoming, withdrawn, dandy, divine, glorious, groovy, hunky-dory*, keen, marvelous, neat, nifty, sensational, swell, crazy, daffy, wacky, adequate, admissible, all right, average, big*, chop chop, close, common, decent, delightful, ducky, fair, far out, groovy, hip*, hunky-dory*, ice, kosher*, large, okay, passable, peachy, peachy keen*, pleasant, pleasing, respectable, right on*, sharp, slick, standard, sufficient, swell*, tolerable, trendy, unexceptional, unobjectionable, welcome…

And those are just the verbs!!!!!!  Now get going!  The subject is movies!  WRITE! :)

Devon likes girls to be relaxed and have a good time. He doesn’t like it when they freak out and clam up - you know, stop talking cause a guy they like is around. Oh! he also likes girls who cook - but then, we like guys who cook, so…
There’s sooooo much more from Devon in the new issue! You’re gonna be so stoked! Now all we have to do is get him another TV show so we can watch him in new stuff again!
