Have you had ‘green’ thoughts today?
Did you see some trash on the ground and think, “Why would somebody do that?” Better yet: did you take care of it? Sure, you may not be able to take care of all of it by yourself, but even one piece put in the trash is an improvement. Look around today, and see if you can spot an area that really needs some sprucing up. If you can’t find one, you should consider yourself super lucky! For the rest of us, it’s never to get in on global clean-up day! Okay, so it was last Saturday - that doesn’t mean there aren’t still areas that need cleaning up today! Find one. Find a teacher or grown-up to help organize you (there are some safety and health issues, so it’s good to have grown-ups around for that). Make a big deal of it, do a good job, and maybe people will think twice before throwing their trash there again!
Look on the web for organizations that can help you with planning and ideas, or lead you to a local group that you can get involved with! www.healthebay.org in Los Angeles should be able to help you get you started!
Kewl was out there cleaning up the beaches near us in Malibu, California last Saturday. What will you do? Brag about it here!

I always clean up stuff people threw on the ground. I can’t stand it to just lie there!

I think that this is so true.
