Whassup, Kewlios?! So, I just started this new part-time job and it seems pretty cool, but I’ve realized how frustrating it can be, too. I’m running errands and doing odd jobs for this woman who is a little up there in age, so she is not remembering things she told me or what I told her. I spent two hours today going to places only to be told that they don’t sell that product there (when she told me to go there). And going to return something, but I wasn’t given the correct credit card. I’ll still get paid for that time, but I would like to just get the job done and cross it off the list. I don’t want her to think that I’m not doing my job when I am, but there are obstacles. Especially since I’ve gotten so busy, I don’t like having to backtrack and do each errand twice. So, I’ve learned to call a store before heading over to see if they have that product. I’ve learned to check the receipt to make sure I have the right credit card. Any job takes a little while before you find your groove and figure things out. So all I can do is just take deep breaths when I get frustrated and remind myself that it will be alright, the tasks will get done and that it’s good to have a job. She’s not mean, just forgetful. I just hope the errands I’m going to run tomorrow go more smoothly than today

Hey there, kewlies! Man, what a night! I just started rehearsals for a new musical that I’m in and we went in head first with dancing. We tackled two big group dance numbers that left my mind a little boggled and my body covered in sweat. But it felt awesome! I haven’t danced in six months (formally, in my room doesn’t count) and was surprised at how quickly I was picking up on the choreography. I was worried I’d be really rusty. And it felt great to sweat it all out and be moving. In addition to all the wonderful dancing, I got to see some friends I have not seen in months and also some friends that I see on a regular basis. There were some new peeps there, too, but it’ll take me a while to feel them out. I can be a little shy. But it’s funny because this is my third show with this troupe and it’s their first, but I can still be shy. But times, they’re gonna get busy. I’ll be having nightly rehearsals for this show, and band practice once a week AND a band I sang with once asked me to do a show with them in a few weeks and I have to learn new songs for that! It’s all stuff that I love doing, but with having other jobs (gotta pay the rent & bills!) it ends up being jam packed days. But doing what I love, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hiya Kewlies! Did you guys have a fantastic 4th of July? I sure hope you did. I had a blast with my friends at the pool party. The weather was gorgeous - low 80’s, clear skies, light breeze. There was a plentiful amount of yummy burgers, hotdogs, chips, corn on the grill & cookies. Don’t worry, we allowed plenty of time between chowing down before we played in the pool. And boy, did we play in that pool! We made up all sorts of games - one with a lime, one with a football, chicken fights, marco polo, practically everything you can imagine. I had tons of fun, but at the cost of causing pain to my body! I have a few small cuts and my arms are sore. I could start to see this big ol’ bruise on my shin form while I was still in the pool! Today it’s a huge bruise and swollen. Ugh, but it’s the price you pay for rough housin’ in the pool! I tried to make it over to my second party, but the road to get over there was blocked off. I think they were trying to control fireworks traffic. So that bummed me out. I turned around and went back to my previous party. We stood on the fourth floor & watched the fireworks going off all along the coastline. It was pretty cool to see them, but it’s just not quite the same as being RIGHT THERE watching fireworks. Hearing the BOOM! So that’s the only thing from my 4th that I wish could’ve been different. But after the fireworks, we walked down to our fave karaoke joint. Hardly anyone was there, so we all got to sing THREE times in one night, when usually on a Saturday, you get to sing once. And of course, we made our presence known on the dance floor. My friends & I have decided that we should make our pool parties a regular thing. When we have adult responsibilities like jobs, bills & relationships, it’s SO nice to be able to splash around in a pool and laugh for hours. Sometimes that’s what you need. When you’re stressed out over things, just take a play break. It can work for anyone at any age.

Happy Holiday weekend to all you kewl kids out there! I hope y’all have fun activities planned to celebrate the 4th of July. Pretty much every town in America has a parade and every other house on the block is having a cookout, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find something to do. I’ve heard that some places are canceling their fireworks because they just don’t have the money. Man, that’s tough. Usually I head over to the beach and spend all day with my friends, eating junk food, playing games, even jumping in the ocean (after driving around forever looking for parking). We stay for hours and hours until it’s time for the fireworks show. And then on our way home, it’s TRAFFIC. I LOVE going to the beach for the holiday, but this year, I’m gonna make it simpler. A friend is throwing a pool party bbq in the afternoon and I’m gonna hit that up. And for the evening, I’m going to another party which should be really fun. And all we have to do to watch the fireworks is walk to the corner. I won’t have to deal with crazy traffic at either places and I still get to see my buds and eat some burgers and chips. Sounds like an awesome 4th if you ask me! Even if you don’t have plans like mine, you can still buy some sparklers to play with at night. Or make a cake with white frosting, blueberries where the stars would be & strawberries as stripes. Whatever you do, just make sure to have a safe holiday. I want all of you back here to see what I’ve been up to on Monday. Okay? Kewl!

What, what kewlios?! I had quite an interesting night. Wanna hear about it? Hear it goes. A friend of mine asked me to be a part of a project that she’s directing. Amazon is having a contest for a commercial and we filmed the whole thing tonight. It’s always fun to be creative, see old friends, meet new friends, laugh, be silly, be professional . . . dance around with aliens. WHAT?! Long story. But what’s awesome is that I’ve worked three times with this director before and it’s so kewl for her to keep asking me back. It means I’m doing something right. It’s easy to feel like you’re not good enough when you’re in a creative field because you’re turned down all the time. So being asked repeatedly by her to work with me, it’s quite a compliment. And who knows where she will be someday…directing movies, directing broadway
Everyone has to start somewhere. You have to keep on truckin’ and not give up on your dreams. It’s all about baby steps. One day you’re helping out a friend by donating hours of your time to be in her commercial, the next day she could be casting you in a project that could pay your rent for the month. So keep at it, keep chipping away at your dreams.

Hello hello, kewl ones! So I had a fun little night last night. I sing back-up vocals with a band that has kind of a folk chick rocky kind of sound and we decided to record the new songs that we’ve learned. Luckily, the one we did last night is my favorite. Even out of the old songs that we perform. It’s so slow and pretty, like walking through molasses. Even though I guess walking through molasses wouldn’t be pretty, but you get what I’m saying. I was pretty nervous because I wanted to do a good job. I was a little hesitant at first, but after that, it was cake. But the hardest part was listening to yourself when it was played back. eeeek! It was just my voice, no reverb, no nothing. You could hear every single little note, breath and consonant. But once it’s played with the rest of the music and vocals, it sounds awesome! I just think it’s a pretty kewl creative thing to do, record a song that no one else has ever sung. I can’t wait to hear the finished product!

What’s up, kewligans! It’s always nice to get a break from your normal routine, even if it means not leaving town. Just taking a new way to the pool or home from day camp can brighten your spirits as you notice things you’ve never seen before. I occasionally do house and dog sitting in town and just looove. First of all, the doggies are precious. I mean, we get attached while I’m there. They start following me around and cuddling with me. I talk to them like they’re people. It’s to the point it’s really sad for me to leave them when the owners come back from their trip. See, when the owners go on a trip, I get my on mini-trip by staying at their house. Sometimes the houses are incredible & way kewl with tons of food, outdoor hot tubs and totally comfy beds. Sometimes the houses are pretty normal, but I still like it because it’s a house and I live in an apartment. This past week I was hanging out with Rupert, this awesome beagle/bassett hound mix. Rupert rocks! We had a good time together taking walks around the neighborhood, sitting in the sunny yard reading (well, I was reading, he was just smelling stuff) only to be distracted by the occasional hummingbird. Even though I have my same responsibilities while I’m there, it still feels like I’m on a little vacation. But I’m still in town & still living my life, so I call it a “stay-cation.” It’s just long enough for me to feel like I’m getting away from it all and to rejuvinate again. Most of the times the neighborhoods are quiet and peaceful, unlike mine. And the best part is that I get paid to take care of these doggies and stay in these nice houses! So if you’re feeling blah and stuck in a rut, even just spending the weekend at your friend’s house will lift your spirits because of the new surroundings - and being around your friend doesn’t hurt, either.

What’s up, kewl kids?! Man, do you ever have those days where you just have nothing to do? And you’re bored out of your gourd? That’s how I feel right now. I don’t have any activities planned at the moment & work is slow. I find myself cleaning a lot, which I guess is good. If I’m gonna sit around bored, it might as well be in a clean home! And I find myself reading a good deal. Which is also good, because when I’m busy, I let things I enjoy like reading slide to the back burner. I’m just not quite sure how to fill my time besides tv, exercising and spending time online. It’s tough when you’re budget’s tight, too. There are plenty of movies I’d like to see or restaurants I’d like to try. So, I stay in the safety of my home where the lure of spending money isn’t present. What do you guys do when you’re feeling bored? Do you wallow in it or get out & do something? Do you use that time productively? I guess I should take advantage of the down time, rest and chill. Because before you know it, something comes along and you barely have time to breathe. Until then, I guess I’ll paint my nails for the third time in three days

What’s up, Kewl ones?! Okay, so we all have our core group of friends. But sometimes, you end up hanging out with just one of the pals that you don’t really hang out with on your own. It’s usually the group of you. Sometimes circumstances can’t be help and it’s just you and one of your pals you’re not used to spending time with alone. At first, it can make you a little nervous because you’re used to having all of your other friends, the connection to that friend, with you. You wonder if you’ll have fun or if you normally have fun because it’s usually a group thing. That’s happened to me recently and I ended up having the best night. It was fun hanging out with just the two of us. When normally I might have spent more time with another friend, I felt since it was just the two of us, we got to know eachother better. We laughed all night long and even said it was fun with it being just the two of us. It’s pretty cool when you get closer to a friend, realizing that you can trust them, that you click. So, here’s to friendships! Because in the long run, it’s really the only thing we have.

Hi there kewligans! Do you guys watch reality tv? It’s pretty much hard not to now-a-days. Seems like there are more “reality” shows than shows with story lines and actors. Would you guys ever go on a reality show? Now, there are shows like “So You Think You Can Dance” which can result in a career doing what you love, or there are shows where you just act a fool. Those obstacle course type shows or the ones where the more stupid you act, the more camera time you get. But then I wonder how it feels to go back to your normal life, to know people will be looking at you knowing the dumb things you did on tv. Or what about those shows where people are supposed to find the love of their lives? Only to break up a few months later. We know by now that the combination of incredible dates and the rushed atmostphere contribute to their infatuaion and “love.” Honestly, I don’t think I could do one of those dating shows because it’s hard enough getting rejected in real life with just your friends knowing, but letting the country see your heartbreak tears, too? Man, I just couldn’t do it! I guess I kind of applaud the people with the guts to go on tv to sing for money, compete in contests, live in a jungle or try to find love. I should applaud them, because as much as I’d never do it, I sure do love watching it
